Do you want to start a monthly ARK Prayer Group? It couldn’t be easier! There are only three elements:

– Read the Monthly Message
– Pray the Luminous Mysteries of the Rosary
– Two or more people gather once a month

Here is some advice to help you get started:
Determine when and where to meet, and who will be responsible for bringing the Monthly Message to the meeting.

ARK Prayer Groups can be as small as two people and as large as your prayer space (in-person or online) will hold. Prayer Groups can meet in the home of an ARK or in any other convenient location, such as a church or an Adoration chapel. If meeting in a church, make sure you receive permission from your parish priest before you begin.

If you do not know any ARK who wish to join an ARK Prayer Group, our staff may be able to help you by networking with other ARK in your area to see if they are interested in connecting. Of course we will only connect people with the explicit permission of both parties. Please email us at contactus@directionforourtimes.org

Another idea is to place an invitation in your church bulletin, or place flyers in various places throughout your community (with the permission from your parish priest). It is often surprising to discover that others have read the messages and want to participate in an ARK Prayer Group, but don’t feel comfortable organizing one.

When your ARK Prayer Group meets, begin by welcoming all, being especially mindful of individuals you do not know personally and who may never have attended a Prayer Group before. After a brief settling, begin with an invitation to spend a moment in silence to allow the peace of Christ to settle into the hearts of all those present. Then, beginning with the Sign of the Cross, start the recitation of the Luminous Mysteries of the Rosary. After finishing the Rosary, ask the designated person to read the Monthly Message aloud to the group. Some groups like to share with each other on the most significant aspects of the message that struck them personally.

That’s all you need to do! From beginning to end, the group will be together for about 1 hour.

Assist me in seeing that my service, however humble and hidden, is important to the universal Church. Strengthen me in times of trial and watch over my family and loved ones. Help me, beloved mother, to remain faithful to Jesus Christ, your son, the Returning King. Amen.

Jesus

My dear apostles, I am with you. I am present in every challenge you experience. I see your struggle and I provide everything you need to serve me in each day. If you have given me your day, then the day belongs to me. Your self-will has been offered to Heaven and Heaven exchanges it for my will. How do you experience this? On most days your experience of serving me is a mystery to you. How could it be otherwise when you are seeing with eyes that have not yet been exposed to the divine vision? Day after day, you offer your will to me and day after day, I use your offering to gently push myself through you to others. Do you feel successful? Or do you feel, at times, that you are unsuccessful? Poor little apostles, I understand your questions and I understand your doubts. I assure you, in my human experience, I did not feel successful at every moment. My experience was often much to the contrary. I often experienced the temptation to believe that I was failing the Father. I sometimes, in moments of human temptation, wondered if, in fact, love was enough. Could love succeed in turning hearts to goodness? Could love succeed in persuading God’s children to accept the Father’s beautiful plan for humanity? Yes, please believe that I suffered temptation. And now, you suffer temptation. Together, our temptations suffered for the Father, bring soothing graces to others. You, my beautiful apostle, serve despite temptations to abandon me. Where others leave, you endure. You endure for me, as I endured for you. From my perspective, all is well, despite your suffering. My plan is perfect and if you are serving me, listening to my voice, there are no problems. If you are not serving me and you are not listening to my voice, then there are many problems for you and there will continue to be many problems for you. ‘Ah’, you say, ‘Jesus, I am listening to you and still I have these problems’. We must differentiate small problems from big problems. Small problems are the sufferings you bear for the sake of the divine will. Big problems are the problems you face when you abandon my will and insert your own will. Are you praying? Are you in steady communication with me? Do you ask me what I want you to do in situations where you are unsure? Do you spend time in silence, considering Heaven and Heaven’s plan for you in the day? Answer yes to these questions and I assure you, your problems will be manageable. Do not believe I ignore your sighs or turn away from your fears. I am with you. I will never abandon you. My plan will be realized through your perseverance and through the perseverance of many apostles like you. I am so pleased when you pray for each other because this is how you experience, in advance, my gratitude. You see my gratitude in the graces received by others through your intercession. Rejoice. I am responding to your pain and answering your prayers. Truly, I am with you.

1. Make the Sign of the Cross and say the “Apostles’ Creed.”

2. Say the “Our Father.”

3. Say three “Hail Marys.”

4. Say the “Glory be to the Father.”

5. Announce the First Mystery; then say the “Our Father.”

6. Say ten “Hail Marys,” while meditating on the Mystery.

7. Say the “Glory be to the Father.” After each decade say the following prayer requested by the Blessed Virgin Mary at Fatima: “O my Jesus, forgive us our sins, save us from the fires of hell, lead all souls to Heaven, especially those in most need of thy mercy.”

8. Announce the Second Mystery: then say the “Our Father.” Repeat 6 and 7 and continue with the Third, Fourth, and Fifth Mysteries in the same manner.

9. Say the “Hail, Holy Queen” on the medal after the five decades are completed.

As a general rule, depending on the season, the Joyful Mysteries are said on Monday and Saturday; the Sorrowful Mysteries on Tuesday and Friday; the Glorious Mysteries on Wednesday and Sunday; and the Luminous Mysteries on Thursday.

The Apostles’ Creed

I believe in God, the Father Almighty, Creator of Heaven and earth. I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, Our Lord. He was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. He descended to the dead. On the third day he rose again. He ascended into Heaven, and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy Catholic Church, the Communion of Saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting. Amen.

Our Father

Our Father, who art in Heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy Kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

Hail Mary

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

Glory Be to the Father

Hail Holy Queen

Hail, Holy Queen, Mother of Mercy, our life, our sweetness and our hope. To thee do we cry, poor banished children of Eve.
